Blog #6 - Week 12

On this day, the 5th of April, 2024, I find myself ensconced within the walls of a rented abode in Aljezur, my gaze drawn to a tree dancing with the wind just beyond the sunroom window. Its branches, adorned with deep red blooms, sway in a mesmerizing ballet with the breeze. Solitude is my rare companion today, a precious interlude I orchestrated by sending everyone on errands, leaving me to savor this moment of introspection. Though solitude is cherished, the company of kindred spirits that surround me is a treasure I hold dear, a stark contrast to the more isolated chapters of my past.

In those days, before personal assistance became my lifeline, my world was confined to the bounds of a bed or hospital, with little but the internet and the walls for company. It was a decade of endurance, softened only by the unwavering support of my mother, whose care made bearable an otherwise bleak existence.

Yet, from the ashes of struggle rose the phoenix of liberation, thanks to the tireless crusade of advocates for rights and dignity. Now, I revel in a freedom as boundless as the skies, my only burdens those I choose in pursuit of adventure and the fullness of life.

Midst these reflections, an urgent call from Rahul, a dear friend and fellow voyager in life's grand odyssey, beckons me to a noble cause — aiding a young soul in Kathmandu in dire need of life-saving surgery. While I seldom speak of such deeds, the timing of his call weaves it into the tapestry of today's musings.

And so, as I ponder the uncertain outcomes of our endeavors, I'm reminded that the essence of our actions lies not in their success but in the intent to sow seeds of love in a world interconnected by the most serendipitous of threads.

Until our paths cross again in this cosmic journey, I leave you with thoughts of love and unity.

Until next time
